1. People
There are two different approaches to building your contact base, Online marketing or Offline marketing. Whatever method you choose, your contacts are your most valuable resources. Who are your contacts you may ask?
Well, If you choose to build your business primarily Offline, then those people would be your next door neighbor, your realtor, your mortgage broker, or anyone you come into contact with. Invite people that are in your inner circle to take a look at what your opportunity offers as far as a product or service. Even if they don’t join your business immediately, they will be more inclined to help jumpstart your business in an effort to help you out. Just remember that people can smell you a mile away if your goal is to “convert” them. Build that friendship through trust.
If you choose Online marketing, you must begin to build a relationships with people. Social media (facebook, myspace, youtube, etc…) is a great way to get to know people and cultivate a relationship with them. Consistency is the key. If you have a capture page, it is essential that you have an automatic email responder. Two that I recommend are Aweber and Getresponse.
2. Recruit the right people
If you’re just starting your network marketing business, it will be tempting to recruit anyone with a pulse.
If you were the President of a million dollar company would that be your mindset? Of course not! If you want to build a thriving business, you need the right people. Look for people that are driven and have unbridled passion. If you have to beg people to join your business, you’ll have to beg them to stay.
3. Believe in your product
Before you can passionately tell others about your product, your MUST believe in it yourself. Why would someone want to join you if your not even excited about what your offering? When choosing a network business, you must take into consideration the product (ie…make sure you’re smoking what you’re selling)
4. Don’t be pushy
When you’re trying to seal the deal, don’t be the used car salesman. Not only is that annoying, but that will most likely push them away all together. When you care more about your customer’s satisfaction, they will care more about your opportunity. Remember that old saying, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”.
5. Practice perseverance
Network marketing is hard work and it takes time. Perseverance is a virtue. The goal is not to just to get money, but to build a solid foundations of residual income. That doesn’t happen overnight and it will take some time, but whatever you do, don’t give up.
6. Evolve
Don’t be afraid of change, embrace it. Today’s society is constantly evolving. If you want to be ahead of the curve, experiment with new marketing strategies. Don’t be satisfied thinking that your techniques at recruiting will forever be effective. When you stop learning your stop leading and when you stop leading, you become a follower. People don’t want to follow followers, they want to follow leaders.
